Sponsored Rider Spotlight- Jenna Lukehart

Earlier this week, the Equine Aqua Spa Center added a new member to Team EASC! We currently have 7 sponsored riders on Team EASC and we are very excited about introducing them all to you over the next few months! Join us in welcoming Jenna Lukehart, of Whitewright, Texas! Jenna currently competes in barrel racing and goat tying. We caught up with Jenna recently and wanted to share a little information about her with you!

Jenna got started with horses about 10 years ago after moving back to Texas with her family. She fell in love with them instantly and was soon introduced to world champion barrel racer, Nancy Hiatt, through her Uncle. Nancy helped Jenna purchase and train her current barrel horse from scratch. As Jenna's confidence grew, she added goat tying into the mix. Loving the adrenaline rush that comes with goat tying, she is currently working towards adding breakaway roping to her resume.

This year, she hopes to yet again make the state finals and proceed on to the short go. Additionally, she’d like to finish training her newest goat tying horse, and as her comfort level progresses, she wants to compete in the breakaway roping! She is no stranger to success in the show pen, with one of her biggest accomplishments coming from making the state finals in both barrel racing and goat tying her ROOKIE year! Now that is something for this young cowgirl to be proud of!

One of the most important parts of learning and having fun in this industry, is having a great group of people to look up to and Jenna definitely has that tenfold! In addition to having the wise mind of Nancy Hiatt to learn from, she also looks to Amanda Spencer to help her out with goat tying as well as her uncle, David Harrell who is also a roping instructor, and great Lisa Lockhart- a household name in the barrel racing industry. And of course, she is sure to credit her parents for being her "biggest fans and cheerleaders". Having a strong support system is so important for young people getting involved in the industry and we are glad that Jenna has such a great team behind her!

When Jenna isn't training or competing on her favorite mare, Diamond, she is also involved with track and running cross-county. It's easy to tell that competition and high speeds are a big part of Jenna's life!

We are very excited to see how the journey unfolds for Jenna, and being a part of her story. Be sure to keep an eye out for her in the pen and cheer a little louder for this great cowgirl!

We asked Jenna what advice she would give other young people just starting out in this industry. "My advice would be just go out and have fun! Winning will come with time, and it's not all about that, it's about loving what you do! Always remember to stay humble, and through low and high points trust in God, because in the end he'll get you through anything" True words to live by!
